Military surplus rifles. Affordable and reliable

One thing a lot of gun owners like to overlook is a surplus firearm. There are a few reasons for this. The parts are harder to find, the guns were used and abused in the military, etc. however, with firearms sales on the internet increasing, it's becoming a lot easier to find parts for these surplus firearms. There are a lot of benefits in buying a surplus firearm, those being affordability, reliability, and collectability.
One of the most popular surplus rifles used today is the Mosin Nagant. Say what you want about the Russians, but they sure do know how to make a great rifle. These are some of the cheapest surplus firearms (let alone firearms in general) that you can find on the market. you can find a sporterized version of one of these for just a little over 300 bucks. The mosin shoots a 7.62x51 mm cartridge, which is similar in size to the .308. The round is fast, the rifle is accurate, and the ammo is cheap. This rifle will always withstand the test of time in my opinion.
The Swiss K31 is a very strange rifle in my opinion. It's just goofy to me. It shoots a goofy round (7.5x55mm), it has a goofy action (straight pull bolt), and a goofy 2 stage trigger. The K31 is a descendent to the Kar98k (the sniper the nazis used) as both of the rifles are part of the Karabiner line of rifles. The rifle is a little more pricy nowadays running at 600 bucks or so on gun broker. However, it is a good collectable firearm. The straight pull bolt does take some getting used to, though.
The Lee Enfield is one of my personal favorite surplus rifles. This has the Mosins' price, the Mosins' accuracy, and the Mosins' reliability. What does it have over the Mosin Nagant? It holds 10 rounds instead of five, It is way easier to mount a scope on it, it has a shorter barrel for better maneuverability, and it shoots the huge .303 British round. This rifle speaks for itself on all aspects. I have owned one of these before and I have regretted getting rid of it ever since. I love this firearm and so would you.
Surplus rifles are great rifles to buy if you are a collector, a beginning firearm owner, and especially a hunter. These guns will always be affordable and reliable. Honestly I wouldn't ask anything more from a gun. I highly recommend you get into buying surplus rifles, you won't regret it.
